Matawan, NJ | CentralReach, the leading provider of electronic medical record (EMR), practice management, and clinical solutions that enable Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinicians to produce superior outcomes for people with autism and related disorders, today announced it was named a Business of the Year 2020 NJBIZ Awards finalist.
The NJBIZ Business of the Year awards recognizes the state's most dynamic businesses and business leaders who share a commitment to professional excellence, business growth, and the community. In particular, the Corporate Citizen of the Year award honors winners and finalists that exemplify the tenet of “doing well by doing good” and shows a sustained commitment to their employees and the community.
"At CentralReach we’ve always made a commitment to give back to the community that we live and work in and 2020 was no different,” commented CentralReach CEO, Chris Sullens. “We knew how tough 2020 was going to be for the communities we serve and how much our investments were needed more than ever before, so we decided to double down on our corporate initiatives. We are proud of the work we did this past year to keep clinicians credentialed and in market with our free continuing education courses and free Thread data collection tool offerings. We are proud of the stances we are taking against racial biases and injustices. We are proud to do our part to invest in the autistic community. Our commitment will not waiver as it is who we are and why we do what we do.”
CentralReach has launched a number of corporate initiatives to support employees and the community. One example was opening its continuing education library, CR Institute, for free to the entire ABA community. This enabled those in the field to take courses required to maintain their certification during a time when in-person conferences that included continuing education credits were unavailable and layoffs and furloughs were prevalent.
CentralReach also offered a free version of its Thread data collection tool clinicians unable to work due to layoffs, furloughs, or the closure of their ABA practices due to the pandemic. The free version enabled practitioners to continue providing care to clients and begin rebuilding (or building) their practices without the costs normally associated with implementing a new technology solution.
With an estimated 42,000 clinicians tasked with providing care for millions of people with autism, the industry has already faced a capacity constraint -- any additional loss of clinicians due to COVID-19 would be devastating to those seeking care.
CentralReach has remained committed to reducing the nearly 84% of the autistic population who are currently under-employed or unemployed through ReachOut, a program dedicated to hiring autistic adults within the organization.
Lastly, the company rolled out a webinar series providing insights from experts in ABA and related fields to dig deep into critical topics that are impacting society today. CentralReach brought on Joy Johnson, M.Ed., BCBA, M.S to discuss the experience of being a black, autistic, female professional in today’s world.
CentralReach has won 28 awards in the past two years, a number of them for its rapid growth, impactful innovation, leadership, and workplace culture – including recent wins such as two Stevie Awards for innovation and growth, NJBIZ Best Places to Work, Forbes Best Startup Employers, and Inc. 5000.
