Steven Merahn, MD FAAP is a pediatrician with longstanding interest in behavioral health integration, early childhood development and the care of children with special needs. He began his career with the New York City Department of Health, where he was responsible for policy and program development for initiatives in early childhood education and early intervention, families with special needs, chronic illness, pediatric HIV disease and women’s health. He is an expert in clinical operations management, healthcare quality and performance improvement, and clinical integration and has served in executive leadership positions with health systems, managed care organizations, and provider networks. Most recently he was the Chief Medical Officer for Centria Autism Services where he helped support clinical operations and led their clinical policy efforts. He’s spoken on autism and ABA at ABAI, the Behavior Analysis Association of Michigan, the National High/Scope conference and the both the Texas and Washington State Associations for Education of Young Children. He is currently the Chief Executive at Union In Action, a nonprofit public charity focused on whose mission is to enhance the capacity of our systems of care to improve the quality of health of individuals and communities using the principles of integration, collaboration, and orchestration.
