Dr. Twyman is a renowned educator, researcher in the field of learning sciences. She has dedicated her career to developing and implementing effective and evidence-based instructional practices that leverage the power of technology and a science of behavior. She has worked with diverse learners and settings, from preschoolers with intellectual disabilities to young adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems, from urban schools in New York to rural schools in South Africa. Formerly she served as the Vice President of Instructional Development, Research, & Implementation at Headsprout, leading the design, development, and dissemination of web-based educational programs that have reached thousands of students across the world. Following that she served the Director of Innovation & Technology for the U.S. Dept. of Education funded Center on Innovations in Learning and is a former President and current Fellow of the Association for Behavior Analysis International. Dr. Twyman has received numerous awards and honors for her distinguished contributions to educational research and practice, including the 2015 Wing Award for Evidence-based Education and the 2017 American Psychological Association Division 25 Fred S. Keller Behavioral Education Award. She is a passionate advocate for teaching and learning technologies that produce individual and system change, and has spoken about new technologies for diverse learners and settings at the United Nations. Currently, as the founder and Chief Learning Scientist at blast: A Learning Sciences Company, she applies her expertise in behavior analysis to the areas of instructional design, educational technology, and artificial intelligence to create innovative and personalized learning solutions.
